FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often about setting up a Mainland company in Dubai.

Unrestricted access to the local UAE market: you may sell directly to customers and businesses in the Emirates, open branches and bid for government contracts. A Freezone company can only do that indirectly.
No. Since the 2021 change in the law, 100 % foreign ownership is possible for most activities. The old shareholding rule still applies only to a few activities classed as strategic – we check that before formation.
Because a real office with Ejari registration is mandatory and the DED licence requires additional approvals depending on the activity. That is why prices here are “from” figures: the actual sum depends on office size and approvals.
Reckon on one to two weeks to the licence – depending on which activities are registered and whether an authority has to approve as well. Visas and the bank account follow afterwards.
Yes, the regular 9 % on taxable profit above AED 375,000. Up to AED 3,000,000 in revenue, Small Business Relief applies – then no corporate tax is due. Registration and the tax return remain mandatory in any case.
