Dubai is not only the tourism hotspot par excellence, but also a magnet for expats and expatriates of all kinds. That's why people are always asking themselves how long the summer will last and what it will really be like.
The article answers these questions and explains whether it is bearable in Dubai in summer and what you can do to combat the heat.
When is summer in Dubai?
Basically, it can be said that the subjective start of summer can definitely be felt as early as May. Tourists can usually enjoy Dubai until the end of April and it gets increasingly hotter from May onwards. Summer then usually lasts until the end of September. During these months, life takes place almost exclusively indoors.
Dubai summer temperature - How hot does it really get?
As a rule, the summer months from June to September have temperatures of 30 degrees (at night) to 45 degrees (during the day), whereby it can even get over 50 degrees on peak days. The transition month of May is not quite as hot, but still significantly hotter than summer days in Europe. In September, the temperatures slowly drop a little, although the humidity is still very high.

The screenshot above shows a typical week in July. It is easy to see that the temperature here is also very high in summer and does not really cool down significantly at night.
Tips against the heat
In general, you should not go on vacation in Dubai during the summer months from May to the end of September. Although the prices are extremely low, it is not recommended to visit the city at this time as it is simply too hot for outdoor activities. The beaches are also empty during these months for good reason.
Expats or expatriates spend most of their time in Dubai in summer in air-conditioned spaces such as apartments, offices, malls or indoor sports facilities. If you can afford it, you travel in the summertime and spend most of your time in Europe or other cooler regions.
If you are in an even better financial position, you can think about a second home in countries such as Croatia, Spain, Italy or Greece. In these countries, owning or renting a property is not subject to tax as long as you are not in the country for more than 6 months per calendar year.

Summary
Summer in Dubai is hot and usually lasts almost 5 months. You should definitely be aware of this before booking a vacation or emigrating to Dubai. As an expat, you should plan your vacation for the summer in cooler regions or, if you can afford it financially, think about a second home in Europe.
